Who is buried in the tomb of unknown soldier????

It’s Armistice Day, November 11th, in thenation's capital. It is a brisk day at Arlington National Cemetery. Dignitaries stand silently on the third anniversaryof the ending of World War I, watching as a single white casket is lowered into a marbledtomb. In attendance is President Calvin Coolidge, former President Woodrow Wilson, Supreme Court Justice (as well as former President) WilliamHoward Taft, Chief Plenty Coups, and hundreds of dedicated United States servicemen. As the casket settles on its final restingplace in the tomb, upon a thin layer of French soil, three salvos are fired.  A bugler plays taps and, with the final note, comes a 21 gun salute. The smoke clears and eyes dry as the UnknownSoldier from World War I is laid to rest; the first unknown soldier to be officiallyhonored in this manner in American history. The United States’ allies in World War I,France and Britain, were the first countries to practice the concept of burying an “unknownsoldier.” World W...

The Panama Canal. The greatest Engineering feat ever

It’s perhaps the most effective shortcutin the world. Slicing through the dense jungles of CentralAmerica, the Panama Canal bisects the continent, carving an 80km path that joins the Atlanticto the Pacific. For ships that pass through its intricatesystem of locks, it can chop up to 12,500 km off their journey - a time saving thatputs even Egypt’s Suez Canal to shame. When construction was finally completed in1914, it was the most expensive infrastructure project ever undertaken, and is still oneof the engineering wonders of the modern world. Yet the tale of the Panama Canal is more thanjust the tale of a whole bunch of guys getting together to decide how to get boats from portA to port B in record time. It’s also a tale of a dream.  Of a dream so big - so unimaginably vast - thatit persisted for centuries; and of the nightmares that were unleashed in pursuit of that dream. In the video today, we take a look at theepic story that is the history of the Panama Canal, a story stu...

CDC submitted a report that we will never lie for Donald Trump legacy

Donald Trump is engaging in a very publicbattle against the CDC, the Centers for Disease Control, and the guidelines that they hadissued when it comes to reopening schools. Now, we had previously shared some of thoseguidelines with you. The CDC's guidance which was updated morethan a week ago calls for keeping desks six feet apart, staggering arrival and dismissaltimes. And also canceling field trips and other largegatherings in communities where there is minimal to moderate spread of COVID-19.  The agency also recommends dismissals of longerthan two weeks in communities where there is substantial spread of the disease. Now pretty much every community is experiencingrapid increases in new coronavirus cases. And as we had previously predicted, now we'reseeing an uptick in the number of coronavirus deaths as well. So anytime you hear anyone trying to minimizecoronavirus as something that's only impacting young, healthy, asymptomatic people just understandthat that's a li...

Blending technology and classroom

Christopher PhillipsReviewer: Denise RQ Pivotal moments really can create who we are today and very much shapewho we become tomorrow. When I was a student, I was part of a group that wentto the DC metro area to try to figure out what business could do to tryto improve education for every child. What I remember mostabout my first classroom visit in DC was the sound of dripping waterfrom a dilapidated building. There was this classroomfull of maybe 20, 25 students, and there was one studentsitting at a desk, captivated by the waterdripping from the ceiling.  I won't forget that scene because there wasn'tmuch learning going on, but I also won't forget his eyes. He saw me when I looked at him,and he knew he deserved better. That was a pivotal moment for me. At that time, I decided not to takea traditional path from business school and to devote my career, really my life's work, to try and figure out a way to make quality educationavailable to every child, regardless of what ...
